GOAL SETTING FOR TEENAGE PARENTS PROJECT
Dear Potential Sponsor,

Young Parent Institute, Inc. is a non profit organization founded in 1997. Our mission is to help decrease the high school dropout rate of teenage parents, repeat pregnancies, and train teenage parents how to develop management and organizational skills. YPI is asking you to sponsor at least one teenage parent for $16.00. This includes all the materials necessary for the project. Teenage parents will create a Goal Action Plan that will be implemented for the upcoming school year. The mission is to have an action plan that positively impacts their school and home experiences. The long term effect is for the teenage parents’ child(ren) to be preschool/kindergarten ready when they enter various preschools and school systems in 3 to 5 years. The participating teenage will sign an agreement to their commitment to complete the goal setting project. There are three time sensitive phases. Phase I – Setting your Educational Goals; Phase II – Setting your Home Goals; and Phase III – Merging Phase I and II into a Goal Action Plan for implementation no later than September 15, 2008. Phase I – Setting Educational Goals - July 1- 20
Phase II – Setting Home Goals - July 21 – August 17
Phase III – Goal Action Plan - August 18 – September 1

In the year of 2006, there were over 410,000 teenage pregnancies in the United States. A staggering number of these pregnancies may have negatively impacted your schools and communities.
